- Recycled and renewably produced steel with Magnelis® coating (C5) lowers carbon footprint
Air handling unit with coil heat exchanger and side connections, with controls.
We are committed to reducing the embodied carbon of our units and primarily use recycled and renewably produced steel inside-out. Over 70% of the total steel weight is represented by recycled steel, which lowers the carbon footprint by around 30% compared to traditional steel. Magnelis® coating (C5) on the inside and paint with corrosion resistant coating on the outside (C5).
GOLD air handling units feature a robust casing performance: air leakage L1(M), thermal transmission U1 (T2), thermal bridges TB2, and mechanical strength D1. Cover panels on the front and back have a panel thickness of 56 mm, other cover panels/inspection doors are 52 mm. Insulation with mineral wool that meets fire safety class A1. The direct-driven GOLD Wing+ fans, equipped with IE5 class EC/PM motors, provide uniform airflow and low noise levels. The fans are designed for high efficiency and can operate continuously in temperatures up to 40°C, with features for easy maintenance and vibration isolation. The supply and outdoor air filters are made from glass fibre, and the filter holder has a filter locking system designed for effective sealing (complies with the requirements for bypass leakage to Class ePM1 85% (F9)). Duct connections for sizes 004/005, 007/008 and 011/012 are circular and designed for connection to ducts with insertion joints fitted with a rubber seal ring. Units in size 014 and up have rectangular duct connections with a securely mounted connection frame for slip-clamp joint connection. The GOLD air handling units are certified by Eurovent. The coil heat exchangers for GOLD CX are supplied complete from the factory, including mounted pipework package with all the necessary components - calibrated and commissioned ready for use.
Coil heat exchangers use a hydronic circuit to transmit energy between the extract air and supply air. With separate air currents, internal leakage is prevented and results in a very space-efficient installation. Ideally used when completely separate air flows are required, normally in hospital environments, but also for recycling process air in industrial environments.
Casing externally: recycled and renewably produced steel, painted in Swegon grey metallic (RAL 9007). Casing internally: recycled and renewably produced steel, with Magnelis® surface treatment. The use of recycled and renewably produced steel in the casing leads to a significantly lower carbon footprint for the product. All surface treatments are C5. Insulation: mineral wool.
Available in multiple sizes and configurations. Duct connections can be circular or rectangular, with optional full-face end panels.
GOLD units are flexible and can be integrated into complex ventilation systems. Detailed planning data is available in AHU Design selection software. BIM files and AutoCAD and Revit plug-ins are available for early project planning support.
Units are delivered on pallets and can be split into sections for easier transport. Commissioning is easily performed via the IQnavigator hand-held terminal or web interface. It is simple, saves time and reduces errors. Maintenance access is provided via hinged doors. Filters, fans and heat exchanger are easily accessible. The CX heat recovery system can be supplied with its hydronic circuit factory pre-filled, vented, calibrated and commissioned, ready for use.
The fully integrated control system IQlogic ensures reliable operation, helps reduce energy costs and simplifies system management. Every GOLD unit is delivered with factory installed and tested controls, ensuring a consistent, superior experience with every GOLD unit. It regulates temperatures, airflows and has a wide range of control functions that can be activated easily. The unit can be demand-controlled via sensors, such as a CO2 sensor, or manually operated for added flexibility.
There are 80+ control functions included in every GOLD unit. All functions are built-in, ready for activation when you need it. The many smart functions can help optimise comfort, energy efficiency and cost, while simplifying monitoring and maximising performance.
With built-in intelligence GOLD offers seamless connectivity to Building Management Systems, secure cloud connection and remote access from any device.
At the unit, use the IQnavigator hand-held terminal or connect your computer, tablet or smartphone and access the internal webpage to manage GOLD just like on the hand-held terminal.
Communication with building management systems can be established via a variety of protocols and cloud APIs. The INSIDE Connect router offers access to the internal webpage.
GOLD units fulfills the extended Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for wireless products included in the CE marking. When using the internal webpage unique passwords for each GOLD unit control system are required. Each GOLD control system is equipped with a unique certificate for connecting in a secure way to Swegon INSIDE Cloud.
IQnavigator is a lightweight hand-held terminal with a 7" multitouch screen. The HMI has an intuitive interface designed for easy and reliable AHU management.
A dashboard shows real-time status and alarms at a glance and a dynamic flow chart displays live performance data. Log graphs offer deeper insights and historic data. Smart guides are available to support start-up, alarm troubleshooting and filter calibration.
