Pressure position optimisation

SuperWISE calculates and adapts the pressure in the duct system towards the lowest possible operating pressure based on all WISE product's damper positions and by that minimises pressure losses in the system.

Main functionality

Pressure position optimization reduces/increases the fan speed by analyzing the damper positions both on the products that lie directly under the air handling unit, and the room product underneath each zone damper.

By keeping the available duct pressure in a ventilation system at lowest possible level at all time based on demand, saves significant amount of energy over time by letting the fans work in the most efficient way.

By keeping the pressure low in the system, also the sound levels in all rooms are at lowest possible level at all time.

Added Value

  • Reduced energy consumption
  • Minimizing the risk of noise  in the system
  • No need for pressure sensors in the zones
  • Pressure sensor to the air handling unit can be placed close to the unit
  • Direct link between SuperWISE and GOLD, no BMS needed

How it works

Optimization reduces/increases the fan speed by analyzing the damper positions on the products that lie directly under the air handling unit

  1. SuperWISE reads all the damper positions for all room products beneath a zone. If all damper positions are between 70-90%, no changes are made.
  2. If all dampers goes below 70%, SuperWISE sends a new, more closed position set point to the superior zone damper.
  3. If one damper goes above 90%, a more open position setpoint is sent.

The same principal is used at zone level. If all damper positions are between 70-90%, no changes are made. If all dampers goes below 70%, SuperWISE sends a new, lower pressure set point to the air handling unit.

  4. If one damper goes above 90%, a higher pressure setpoint is sent to the air handling unit.

Technical details

  • Set points for open and closed damper positions are default values and can be changed by the administrator.
  • Time interval between sending new damper positions, and set pressure is also changeable in SuperWISE, as well as the magnitude of each step, in percent and ascals.
  • These settings are individual from project to project and needs to be defined at commission and start-up.
