Using Chilled Beams to ventilate, cool and heat with optimized energy-savings and occupant comfort

Chilled beams provide ventilation, cooling and heating to occupied zones using just air and water. This course explores how chilled beam systems provide high levels of occupant comfort and energy savings while addressing the heightened embodied and operational carbon requirements of projects.

Course is AIA-approved for 1.0 LU|HSW. Course is eligible for 1.0 GBCI LEED credit

Learning Objectives

  1. Define the energy-saving benefits of chilled beam systems
  2. Describe how Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) reduces building energy use and improves indoor environmental quality (IEQ)
  3. Explain the ways chilled beam systems reduce building embodied and operational carbon
  4. Highlight DCV chilled beam system control strategies that maximize energy-savings
