AHU Design is an online web-based selection software and supports Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. The software uses Meteo climate data.

Each selection is given a unique reference number, called AD number, which can be shared/copied. Also projects including several selections can be shared with other users for easy collaboration.​

CAD exports

From AHU Design you can export the content information to .dxf file. If you are using MagiCAD, download Swegon MagiCAD plugin to transfer 3D content and calculation data.

Documentation

AHU Design offers the possibilty to generate many different reports in different formats (PDF, word etc.). It is possible to customise the print-outs in terms of content and page footer. The comprehensive technical documentation and print-outs include:​

Energy calculation

AHU Design makes it possible to calculate energy, energy cost and LCC (Life Cycle Cost), it is also possible to make energy comparisons between different air handling units.

Energy calculation is based on the specified location, which provides climate data (from Meteonorm), energy price for different energy types is used for calculation of energy cost. Usage time, interest rate and price increase for each energy type are used for LCC calculation, input data is specified in the climate settings.

The print-out menu provides the possibility to select the desired information such as energy calculation and energy diagrams. Diagrams for presentation purposes are also available. 

• Energy calculation – present energy for each energy type ​
• Operating cost – shows energy cost for each energy type and total energy cost ​
• LCC – shows the energy cost during the expected operating time ​
• Energy comparison – compares the energy performance of different units ​
• Operating setup – enables energy calculation for different operating cases ​
• Weekly schedule – makes it possible to calculate units with intended operating time ​
• Print-out – select the desired output, bar and pie charts illustrates energy usage, energy cost, and lifecycle energy cost

Mollier diagram

The Swegon Mollier tool is a web based program that supports both Mollier diagram and Psychrometric chart layouts, and both metric and imperial units.

The equations used to plot the Mollier chart are used in AHU Design to calculate temperature and humidity change as well as power consumption etc.

In the settings it is possible to select the layout and language. It is also possible to select wet bulb temperature as an input parameter. It is easy to add points and to link points together to form processes. Several process can be defined in the same diagram.

In the print menu it is possible to get hard copy or create a PDF document. The printout consists of a table with the data and then the diagram.

Control systems

The selection of control functions in AHU-Design is very easy and intuitive. Under the tab “Control system” you can select all available functions in a large portfolio. Icons and easy to use drop-lists guide you through the selections. Then the selections are ready, generates all documentation, necessary components and also a configuration file which you can download on a SD-card or USB-stick and then put in the GOLD AHU control card for a base configuration.
